It is almost over.
We waited for years to see the world cup on the soil of our Africa. The world is happy and excited to see South Africa hosts 17th world cup event. We watched great world class stadiums, venues \and infrastructures. We saw so much tears, broken hearts, and great Kodak moments. Highly expected world class players went to bust to the likely of Rooney, Messi, Torress, and Ribery and C Ronaldo. As an African American, I rooted for African country to advance and to do the unthinkable. Like others, my dream was shattered when Ghana missed the regular time PENALTY against Uruguay.
We also watched the biggest and despicable decisions of the referees, rude behavior and cheating of many players. I would like to mention some of the biggest referee's blunders: Lampard's goal against Germany, USA goal against Slovenia, Tevez's offside goal, uncalled fouls on C Ronaldo and others.
There were surprises of early exits from tournament: 2006 title holders Italy , the undisciplined team France and the boring Brazil.
Despite losing the first game to Switzerland, the Spaniards manage to reach to the final with group effort. In the other, the Netherlands were unbeaten from the get-go and played very consistent games. Ajen Roben physically fit to inflict damage on the Spaniard and the diminutive Wesley Sneijder which competes with the selfish Spaniard David Villa with 5 goals each also a danger to reckon with.
This will be the most exciting game. There will be history made whichever team wins. Spain reachs for the final for the first time and the Netherlands reached for the final twice before to fail against Germany and Argentina respectively. I lost some money betting against the Spaniard in favor of Germany. I still bet against the Spaniards losing to the undefeated, well adjusted and underdogs the Netherlands.
