Ethiopian Legendary Vocalist, Tilahun Gessese Passes Away..
After two days of arrival from USA to celebrate Ethiopian easter with his family, legendary vocalist Tilahun Gessese died on April 19, 2009. Tilahun Gessese is unequivocal Ethiopian musical legend which has been entertaining music lovers over 50 years. He is one of a kind and irrepalcable musical talent. Tilahun has been receiving medical treatment in the USA for several months.
Born on September 1940 in Addis Ababa Ethiopia to his father Ato Gessese G-Kidan and his mother Woizero Gete Girmu, he attended primary school at Ras Gobena in Woliso town, south of Addis Ababa. He joined Hager Fikir theatre and joined the Impreial Bodyguard Band where he claimed success instantly. He has been known with his songs about love, patriotism, work ethics, jealousy, friendship, courage. Tilahun will be missed dearly, but his legacy will continue foever. Seattle Baro Sports Club sends a heart felt condolence to his family and loved ones.
